Here at Sinch we know what it’s like to start small. Back in 2008, our story began with six guys sitting in the window of a little travel shop in Stockholm.

Small and medium-sized businesses have a massive impact on the lives of millions of people around the world – and they have specific needs. One size does not fit all.

That’s why we’re so excited today to announce that Sinch will be acquiring MessageMedia, a leader in mobile messaging solutions for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Together, we will help SMBs across the globe to wow their customers through mobile experiences!

Mobile messaging presents a huge opportunity for SMBs. The vast majority of text messages are read within seconds, as opposed to emails which we all know can languish in our inboxes for weeks (if they’re ever read at all). Plus, research shows that customers want to hear from the businesses they care about.

But, it also presents challenges. Smaller businesses often don't have access to tools that cater to their unique needs. They don't have enterprise-scale resources, tech-savvy product managers, and teams of developers – and that means they’re blocked from taking advantage of some of the most powerful communication tools around.

By joining forces with MessageMedia, we hope to change that, building and expanding the #1 platform for mobile messaging and customer engagement for SMBs around the world.

Sinch already powers mobile customer engagement for the biggest brands on the planet. Now, our goal is to offer every business the same great opportunities.

With MessageMedia, customer engagement for small businesses is a breeze. They can have two-way conversations with customers, use a dedicated mobile number those customers can recognize, add media to messages, and even send a million messages at once.

Whether you need to offer booking confirmations, appointment reminders, two-factor authentication, emergency alerts, delivery tracking, or something else entirely, the platform lets you do so – with no need for coding. The web-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform makes it easy for small businesses to get started. It's online, self-service, and intuitive - so business owners can spend more time on other tasks.

MessageMedia has more than 60,000 customers in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. The company handles more than 5 billion mobile messages per year. If you're not familiar with MessageMedia, you may have heard of its sister brands housed under the same roof, using the same tech platform: ClickSend and SimpleTexting. (After all, all good things come in threes, right?) These three brands cater to distinct customer groups, but together they form a mobile customer engagement powerhouse that helps SMBs in all industries succeed each day.

The whole product suite is designed to be easy to use and to quickly produce value. It's a turnkey solution that offers ready-made integrations with platforms such as HubSpot, Shopify, and NetSuite, to keep things easy for business owners.

With this move we will be welcoming some 350 new employees into the Sinch family. And we couldn't be more thrilled! After all, here at Sinch we believe in winning together. As our CEO Oscar Werner puts it:

“Addressing small and medium-sized businesses opens up a new avenue to growth and dramatically expands our addressable market. With MessageMedia as a part of Sinch, we will have the best team in the industry to capitalize on that opportunity.”

A big warm welcome to the team at MessageMedia - #WeAreSinch!
