Symsoft to Provide European MNO with Signalling Fraud and Security Protection

News Article
Symsoft AB, the operator division of CLX Communications AB (Publ) – XSTO:CLX, today announced that a European MNO has chosen Symsoft to provide signalling fraud and security protection for all their mobile services. Following the recent public exposure of signalling based attacks, mobile operators are beginning to upgrade their protection against fraudulent activities in their mobile networks. To ensure maximum protection, operators are increasingly choosing to follow the GSMA’s recommendation of implementing a Signalling Firewall. This particular mobile operator has a large portion of their customer base in the public and government security sectors. The data being transmitted is extremely sensitive, so the need for secure communications is of the utmost importance. After a global review of solutions and trusted partners, the MNO opted for the Symsoft suite of Firewalls within SMS, SS7 and Diameter, for protection of all their communication services, in all their networks. Petter Näslund VP of Product Management at Symsoft, commented, ‘It is encouraging to see that yet another mobile operator has chosen Symsoft to secure their signalling networks. As this mobile operator is serving a select group of customers with exceptional security requirements, the decision to work with Symsoft is a strong recognition of the viability of our product offering, and the trust instilled in the organisation’. Symsoft continue to develop comprehensive Firewall solutions on their carrier grade platform, to provide operators real-time, flexible services, to allow Operators to stay protected even as new vulnerabilities emerge.
