The beginning of my journey here at Sinch started way before my first interview! In fact, I was already following Sinch through social media several months before my interview. But before I start telling you my story, please let me introduce myself.

My name is Bruna Cardoso and I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I am a Marketing student and I currently work as a Customer Success Intern at Sinch. In this article I will describe my firsts impressions, from the interview to the onboarding process.

As a Marketing undergraduate, I really wanted to have the experience of working in Customer Success. During the pandemic, I took some online courses and have obtained Customer Success and Customer Experience certificates. In the same period, I started following Sinch’s posts through social media and was completely amazed by this company!

Dream Big, Win Together, Keep It Simple, and Make It Happen. These are Sinch’s values and they fit perfectly with my values as well. I am a dreamy person and from the start, I knew I wanted to work at Sinch. For a few months, I kept track of the positions available on the website. In November 2021 the internship position in Customer Success was posted, so I saw the opportunity to put together the two things that I wanted so much, for so long. It was the Perfect Match!

In December 2021, I started the interview process and from the very first moment I felt welcomed and comfortable to be myself. Actually, it was the first job interview where I felt safe to mention that I am part of the LGBTQ+ community. It may not seem like a big detail, but this was a very striking moment that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. From that moment on, I knew I had made an excellent choice in coming to Sinch. Diversity and inclusion are not just words or a poster on the wall around but are truly part of the reality within the company.

January 17, 2022 was my first day as a Sincher! On that same day, others Sinchers also began their journeys. Together we had a very fun first day at work! We introduced ourselves and had the opportunity to get to know each other better. In the following days, all the new interns from my team had our onboarding meetings and we were very well welcomed by our colleagues!

Also, I was pleasantly surprised by how prepared our team was to make the onboarding process the best one possible. We all know that the experience of starting in a new company can be uncomfortable — you are totally out of your comfort zone. Despite this, our Customer Success team has done a beautiful job of introducing us in a systematic, organized way to our roles. I am pretty sure this makes the difference in the short, medium, and long term period in our journey here!

In a few days, it will be 4 months since I joined Sinch. With each passing day, I have more work to do and the opportunity to learn new things. Being in a company where you feel comfortable to be yourself and surrounded by welcoming people, who help you grow professionally and explore your potential, makes this journey lighter and more enjoyable.
