In a slightly different case study, I got the chance to speak with Hidayet from Tunisa, to talk about how she is using Sinch in an Android project for her bachelors degree.
Currently a student at The Higher Institute of Art and Multimedia of Manouba, Hidayet is taking on the adventurous task of challenging the enterprise communications market, by building her app Procom which combines email, video conferencing, and more into one simple app.
Working on her own with a designer friend, the Procom app is using Sinch for app to app and app to phone calling as well as instant messaging and later video calling. “I built my basic app with user registration and login screens first, and then integrated Sinch” Hidayet told me. “It is still being built but I have until May to finish the project, and I have already had some interest from businesses in my city who want me to continue development of Procom after my studies.”
Using just the documentation, tutorials, and some help from our support team, Hidayet said she found the “integration and code easy to use and work with. The hardest part of my project was finding a provider”.
Focusing on Android now and iOS and Web later in the year, Hidayet wants to combine many of the communication apps that businesses use everyday, into one streamlines experience where email, calling, and video are all ready to use.
Since this is a university project, the app is not live or ready for download yet, but Hidayet has shared some screenshots of her early work.
