Parley Chat is a start up messaging app in the pre-launch stage, and we got the chance to speak with Mike Milord, co-founder and developer. With his 3 person team based in Paris, Parley Chat is a an app targeting students that want to chat with their friends with or without a messaging app.
“With Parley Chat it is easy to send messages or call (even anonymously) to anyone in your address book, regardless if they’ve got the app installed. If the recipient does not have the app, they will receive your message via SMS. Keeping your phone number and your conversation private has never been so easy.”
Parley Chat has been using Sinch for App to App and App to Phone Calling with it’s 200 beta testers. “We originally went with Twilio, but found it very complicated to get started with and moved so Sinch. This was much easier and the quality was better”.
Mike told me that it was quite easy to get Sinch integrated and working with their app, and although they had a few issues with the SDK, Christian helped out and got them up and running.
“I’d say that Sinch is straight forward, easy to use, and the team has done a great job with the SDK to make it plug and play for any app”
In the next 6/12 months, Parley Chat plan to fully launch in March and then look to add video calling later in the year
