Over the past few months, the Sinch team has been hard at work developing a new phone number verification product for our partners. Starting with an API and then an SDK, Sinch partners were able to start verifying their users with SMS Verification and/or Flash Call, which is an innovative new technology pioneered by our developers. This has been available for beta testers for a few months now and we have had some great feedback and reactions to the product and service.
With Flash Call, developers can verify user phone numbers with a frictionless functionality that calls and intercepts the device to verify a number is valid. Because this requires less user interaction, the Flash Call verification process is also much quicker than standard SMS PIN verification, as you can see in the video below.
We have improved both the platform and SDKs based on developer feedback and performance optimization, and have introduced analytics and detailed reporting in the Portal. All verification requests can be visualised in the Analytics tab of the portal.
Sinch aims to provide app developers with the ability to verify user phone numbers easily for a clean user base. SMS PIN verification has been the industry standard, but in an effort to tackle spammers, Sinch has developed Flash Call technology (Android Only) to support traditional SMS verification methods. Flash Call works by placing a call to the user’s number for verification and intercepting the call before the phone even rings.
With the launch of the Sinch Verification SDK, developers can now integrate verification methods into their existing apps with just a few lines of code. Working with developers and partners, including Truecaller, Sinch is pleased to be providing an out of the box solution for phone verification with this SDK and is officially opening up the service to developers everywhere.
